16th Annual Hunter Clinic
June 17, 2008
Sportsman’s Warehouse Phoenix

Sportsman’s Warehouse in Phoenix once again hosted our 16th Annual Hunter’s Clinic on June 17th. Over 80 hunters and their guests were treated to a wide variety of presentations on subjects important to the outcome of their upcoming hunts.  Topics included Optics, Trophy Evaluation, Pronghorn Growth, Taxidermy, Practical Field Care, and Hunting Tactics for Firearms and Archery.

In addition to the formal presentations, representatives of the five AG&FD regions with antelope hunts this fall were on hand to discuss the specific hotspots in the game management units drawn by the hunters in the audience.

There were 34 attendees who decided to become members of the AAF that evening and were entered into a special drawing for a $100 Sportsman’s Warehouse gift card, which was won by Justin Wilkins. We also had many fine antelope mounts on display. Those who willingly brought their mounts for display were entered into a drawing for a $50 Sportsman’s Warehouse gift card, which was won by Joe Moodie.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteer presenters:
Pete Cimellaro
Dave Conrad
David Brown
Greg McBride
Corky Richardson
Game & Fish Region Reps Rick Langley, Lee Luedeker, Darren Tucker, Jim Heffelfinger, Jake Fousek

A big thanks also goes to Sportsman’s Warehouse store manager Bruce Gibson and his folks for the outstanding support they provided in helping us plan, set up, and conduct the clinic.  Sportsman’s Warehouse generously donated a Ruger model 77 rifle to the Foundation, which was raffled off during the clinic to help offset our costs. The rifle was won by Ray Schroeder.

Finally, thanks to Past President Warren Leek for organizing this event, and for donating the $150 prizes for our new member and antelope mount raffle drawings.
